Nissan India bags sizeable export orders for Datsun, Sunny.

Top official of Renault Nissan Alliance India Pvt. Ltd, has announced that the Car maker Nissan Motor India is excited about the export market and plans to ship out over 8,000 Datsun and 65,000 Sunny cars till next year.

Mr. Biju Balendran, the Managing Director & CEO, RNAIPL told IANS. "We will be exporting over 8,000 units of Datsun GO CVT and GO+ CVT this current year and further plans to ship out similar numbers the next year too. And in the month of January or February 2020, we will launch Datsun Redi GO with BS VI complaint engine. It will have complete new look, as enormous investment has been made for that,"

With respect to the Sunny cars export numbers he mentioned, "We commenced this year with a project to ship about 22,000 Sunny. And now the order has developed to over 65,000, comparable number is expected next year as well."

Nissan India exports its cars, engine and components to South Africa, Middle East, Egypt, Brazil, Indonesia, Sub Saharan countries and Nepal.

Mr. Balendran also mentioned that exports of Nissan's sports utility vehicle (SUV) have also been initiated. When asked about the higher exports out of India, Balendran, stated, when compared to other plants, Indian plant is very cost competitive and the markets which are served by the company are also doing quite well in the respective individual segments. And the downturn in automotive industry in India have not affected RNAIPL.

Mr. Balendran stated that the previous year RNAIPL had rolled out around 1,82,000 units and this year the manufacturing numbers is expected to be about 2,10,000 due to the robust export orders.
