PlugNride Motors, a prominent Indian electric mobility company, formally introduced its first locally produced electric bike tailored to African terrains and transportation requirements at a historic occasion that represents Indo-African cooperation in sustainable technology.
Mr. Ubong Akpan Johnny, the Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria to India, graced the spectacular opening at the Nigerian Embassy in New Delhi, where he formally unveiled the e-bike to a crowd of dignitaries, business executives, and media representatives.
Following a successful test drive of the new model, Mr. Johnny declared, "This is not just a vehicle, it's a vision." "This electric bike's ingenuity and usefulness have really impressed me. Nigeria and other African countries are a good fit for it. I commend the PlugNride team for their dedication to sustainable mobility in developing nations. This product is the result of a potent fusion of African ambitions and Indian creativity.
Mr. Zafar Equbal, the founder of PlugNride Motors, was also in attendance and expressed the company's excitement about breaking into the African market.
"We are incredibly thrilled to introduce this unique product to the African market," Mr. Equbal stated. "This launch is about making a difference, empowering livelihoods, and supporting Africa's green economy—it's not just about a car. We are prepared to build a significant presence in Nigeria with complete local cooperation and are dedicated to assisting with its e-mobility mission.
The electric bike's robust design, large load capacity, and improved battery performance are the results of much study and testing. It has been tailored for last-mile delivery, urban commuting, and rural accessibility in a variety of African regions.
A live demonstration of the bike's capabilities, highlighting its performance and durability, brought the reveal event to a close. Following that, stakeholders from Nigeria and India convened for a networking event to discuss potential future collaboration opportunities in the field of electric mobility.
An important step in fostering closer links between India and Africa via green innovation is PlugNride's program. In order to guarantee cost and long-term sustainability, the company also revealed intentions to work with regional partners throughout Africa on infrastructure for assembly, distribution, and servicing. With this launch, the transformation of mobility solutions throughout the African continent is off to a promising start.
