According to information given by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), India's automobile exports increased by 24 percent in 2025 due to the high demand for passenger cars, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles abroad.
The total number of vehicles exported increased by 24.1% to 63,25,211 units in 2025 from 50,98,474 units the year before.
Passenger car exports rose from 7,43,979 units in 2024 to 8,63,233 units, a 16% increase. In this category, passenger car shipments increased slightly by 3% to 4,25,396 units, while utility vehicle dispatches increased dramatically by 32% to 4,27,219 units.
Key international markets, such as those in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, saw stable demand, according to SIAM.
Maruti Suzuki was the top exporter of passenger cars, shipping 3.95 lakh units in 2025 as opposed to 3.26 lakh the year before. According to the carmaker, it is expected to reach its FY26 export goal of 4 lakh units.
