Renault Group India has commenced exports of the all-new Duster, with the first shipment of 750 SUVs departing from Chennai for Africa. The milestone marks the beginning of the company's global export programme for the latest generation of the popular SUV and reinforces India's growing importance in Renault's international manufacturing network.
The all-new Duster is being produced at Renault's manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, which serves as a key production and export hub for the automaker. Built on the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP), the SUV is the first Renault model in India to use the locally adapted platform, developed to meet both domestic and international market requirements.
Renault carried out extensive validation and performance testing of the new Duster at the Madras International Circuit in Irungattukottai before commencing production. The company said the vehicle benefits from Tamil Nadu's established automotive ecosystem, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and strong export infrastructure.
The first export shipment supports Renault's long-term strategy of strengthening India's role as a global manufacturing base. The initiative is aligned with the company's objective of generating €2 billion in annual exports from India by 2030. As Renault expands its international presence, Tamil Nadu is expected to remain a key pillar of its production, engineering, and export operations.
