According to a statement released by Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population, Egypt and India have talked about enhancing cooperation in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, with a focus on technology transfer, local production of high-tech medications, and increasing investment in health industries.
Indian Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, who is also India's Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, met with Egyptian Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar. Minister Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the Egyptian government's commitment to increasing healthcare investment and forming strategic alliances with top countries to improve the competitiveness and caliber of Egypt's pharmaceutical sector, according to Ministry Spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.
In order to advance local manufacturing capacities, specialized workforce training and research infrastructure, the two sides examined possible collaborative ventures between Egyptian and Indian pharmaceutical businesses, especially in the fields of oncology medications, vaccines and biologics.
Additionally, strategies for facilitating pharmaceutical investments and streamlining import, export and medication registration regulations were discussed. In order to optimize the advantages of bilateral collaboration, both ministers stressed the significance of coordination between the public and commercial sectors, civil society and major pharmaceutical and vaccine makers in both nations.
