In discussions with H.E. Dr. Adarsh Swaika, the Indian High Commissioner to Kenya, Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale reaffirmed the solid connection between Kenya and India and explored new areas of cooperation to promote Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and fortify health systems.
Supporting Taifa Care, developing digital health, bolstering specialized medical education, encouraging regional production of pharmaceuticals and vaccines, and improving epidemic preparedness and health security were the main topics of discussion.
In order to strengthen cooperation in healthcare innovation, funding, and technology transfer, the two parties also agreed to expedite the Kenya-India Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Medicine and hold a joint investment roundtable.
Director-General for Health Dr. Patrick Amoth, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Ms. Mary Muthoni, and Ag. Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya National Public Health Institute Dr. Kamene Kimenye were also in attendance.
