Panasonic Establishes A New Production Plant In Daman, India

The first multinational corporations electronics company based in Japan, Panasonic Corporation, has a subsidiary called Panasonic Life Solutions India (PEWIN), which manufactures both modular and non-modular electrical switches in India. Recently, PEWIN opened a new manufacturing facility in Daman, Gujarat, to begin producing lighting products in India.

 

In keeping with its expansion goals, the company has invested USD $180,000 (INR15 million) in the new facility, which will enable internal production of lighting goods.

 

"We see enormous potential in India, especially with regards to the manufacturing industry," stated Kuniyasu Shimaoka, Managing Director of Panasonic Corporation's Global Lighting business. Our goal in investing INR 15 million is to grow our company in India. In order to expedite inland manufacturing and maintain relationships with Indian suppliers, Panasonic (PEWIN) intends to begin manufacturing in Daman in honour of the tenth anniversary of Made in India.

 

The new plant will initially produce downlights and other lighting fixtures before later adding other product lines. As of right now, the industry's total manufacturing capacity is expected to grow by 115% by FY2024, from 1.5 lakh units in the initial year.

 

Between FY2023 and FY2024, the corporation hopes to accomplish major business goals and contribute to the growth potential of the nation.
