According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's (MNRE) most recent statistics, India's total solar PV installations reached 75.58 GW at the end of February 2024. 11.08 GW of grid-connected PV rooftop, 2.57 GW of hybrid solar, 2.85 GW of off-grid, and 59.08 GW of ground-mount solar power were included in the total.
Approximately 8.8 GW of PV capacity was added between April 2023 and February 2024.
With 19.5 GW of the total installed PV capacity, the state of Rajasthan leads the way in this regard. After Karnataka with 9.5 GW of PV, Gujarat comes in second place with about 10.8 GW of PV.
By the end of February 2024, the installed RE capacity in the country had reached approximately 137 GW. 75,575.81 MW of solar power, 45,153.67 MW of wind power, 4,994.75 MW of small hydro power, 9,433.56 MW of biomass cogeneration (bagasse), 828.25 MW of biomass cogeneration (non-bagasse), 334.31 MW of waste-to-energy (off-grid), and 249.74 MW of waste-to-power were included in this.
