The Avaada Group plans to invest $4.3 billion in renewable energy and BESS projects in India

Avaada Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Gujarat to develop solar power projects totaling 5 GW, a wind power project of 1 GW, and battery energy storage system projects amounting to 5 GWh, with an overall investment of INR 36,000 crore ($4.3 billion).

Avaada Group, a multifaceted energy corporation, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat Government to allocate INR 36,000 crore for solar, wind, and battery energy storage system (BESS) initiatives within the State. The MoU was formalized at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2025.

According to the agreement, Avaada Group plans to set up 5 GW of solar power installations, a 1 GW wind energy project, and 5 GWh of battery energy storage systems in the districts of Kutch, Banaskantha, and Surendranagar in Gujarat. These combined renewable energy and storage projects will improve grid stability by facilitating efficient storage and distribution of green energy. The initiation of all projects is anticipated to take place between 2027 and 2030.

The combined projects are projected to create more than 1,000 direct green jobs and 2,000 indirect green jobs within the State. Furthermore, it is anticipated that nearly 5,000 individuals will find employment opportunities during the construction phase.

The initiatives will speed up the State's shift towards clean and affordable energy by providing reliable green power outside of solar hours using advanced battery storage. The combined renewable energy portfolio will contribute to reducing over 12 million tons of CO emissions and saving nearly 166 million liters of water each year thanks to robotic module cleaning technology.

The 280 MW solar power project by Avaada Group in Surendranagar, Gujarat, was recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Built in accordance with the Gujarat State Solar Policy, this project covers an area of 1,170 acres in the villages of Tavi and Varsani within Surendranagar district and involved a total investment of INR 1,500 crore. It features ALMM-certified TOPCon n-type bifacial solar PV modules from Avaada Electro.

The Prime Minister additionally inaugurated the foundation stone for the company's 100 MW solar power initiative in the Vadodara district. Covering an area of 350 acres, this project is expected to involve an investment of INR 400 crore.
